Jomo Cosmos have been reinforced by Nkululeko “China” Tshangane’s return from injury as the team prepares for next Tuesday’s Nedbank Cup Round of 32 cracker against Baroka FC in Polokwane.
The right back had been sidelined by a thigh strain since that lone goal defeat by Maccabi FC on 6 January, but rejoined the squad in training this week after regaining fitness.
However, Tebogo Mabula will not be part of the cup fray after failing to recover from the knee injury he sustained also during the 1-0 loss to Maccabi.
Similarly, defenders Mpumelelo Zondi and Noah Maimela are ruled out due to suspension.
The pair would, however, be available for selection when Cosmos host Mbombela United in an NFD fixture next Sunday.
Meanwhile, centre back Sicelo Hlatshwayo is fully back in the squad after being away on compassionate leave following the death of a relative.
Cosmos go into Tuesday night’s game looking for redemption in a cup situation after suffering three consecutive league defeats.
With the controversial U-23 rule not applicable in cup ties, Ezenkosi are expected to field their strongest team against the reigning Telkom Knockout champions.
The game kicks off by 19h30 at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium, and will be televised live on SuperSport 4.
