Jomo Cosmos and Santos go head to head in the battle for NFD points when they clash on Wednesday afternoon in Cape Town.

The Peoples Team go into the midweek tie languishing at the bottom of the NFD log having lost all their five previous matches and are staring relegation in the face with only 18 points in 26 matches with just four games remaining.

Cosmos have also suffered from inconsistent form lately, winning only once in their last five NFD matches to leave their play-off hopes hanging in the balance.

Ezenkosi beat Santos 3-1 in the first meeting between the two sides last December in Potchefstroom thanks to a brace from Lefa Hlongwane and an own goal.

Meanwhile, Cosmos will be missing three key players for this game as defenders Tumisang Mashele and Shane Thompson are shut out of the tie due to suspension, while Tebogo “Messi” Tlolane is still nursing an ankle strain.

Kick-off time at the Athlone Stadium is 15h00.
