Jomo Cosmos have continued the process of beefing up its squad for the upcoming season by promoting a player from its development structure, Zuko Gxabuza, to the senior team.
Ezenkosi boss, Jomo Sono said this is line with the club’s culture of unearthing young talent and showcasing them on the big stage.
“Yes we have signed the boy from our development, and we are hoping to make him an even better player in the shortest time possible,” the former Bafana Bafana boss stressed.
The sensational 15-year-old attacking midfielder graduated with flying colours from the Cosmos U13 side where he started two years ago, and featured prominently for Ezenkosi’s U17 team at the annual Future Champions International Soccer Tournament held in March this year.
Gxabuza plays mostly from either wing, but is also effective in striking positions.
His acquisition brings to five the number of players so far recruited by Jomo Cosmos ahead of the 2018-2019 season.
Last month, Ezenkosi snapped up Namibian international left back, Riaan Hanamub as replacement for Ananias ‘Junior’ Gebhardt, who has since signed for Baroka FC.
