Ismail Mohamed Mgunda
Determined to strengthen its engine room and provide more options upfront, Jomo Cosmos have signed up Nigerian midfielder Kizito Chinonye Obi and Tanzanian striker Ismail Mohamed Mgunda.
Apparently, both players impressed the technical team during trials in the past couple of weeks, and were duly rewarded with contracts.
Obi, who turns 27 in July, penned a 16 months deal with Ezenkosi with an option to renew.
The hard-tackling holding midfielder, who can also be deployed in attacking positions, last played for South African Vodacom League side Leruma United FC after a stint with Tucanes FC in Venezuela’s Premier League.
Tanzanian front man Mgunda, also comes with a bag of experience having starred in his country’s Premier League with RUVU Shooting FC, as well as in Botswana with Gilport Lions.
Mgunda sealed a 12-month contract with an option to renew.
His acquisition is seen as a move to help resolve Ezenkosi’s goal scoring issues following the midseason exits of Mxolisi Macuphu and Linda Mntambo.
