Frederick Nsabiyumva will not be in action against Royal Eagles

Jomo Cosmos hit the road to Pietermaritzburg Friday morning ahead of their high profile NFD duel against 2nd placed Royal Eagles slated for Saturday afternoon. Kick-off time is 15h30 at the 12,000-capacity Harry Gwala Stadium.

Cosmos go into this game without some of their best legs, as team Captain Frederic Nsabiyumva misses out due to suspension. Also suspended is ace winger Tebogo Makobela and defence stalwart Ange Dahou Lebahi.

Similarly, injured players that have been ruled out of the weekend clash include midfielder Matsilele Sono Jnr (hamstring), and striker Brice Aka (knee).

Last time out in the league, Cosmos prevailed over visiting Magesi FC when second half goals by Kevin Ndayisenga and hot-shot Mxolisi Macuphu secured a 2-1 victory at Olen Park, while Royal Eagles lost 3-2 to AmaZulu in a local derby.

Meanwhile, Ezenkosi stepped up preparation for Saturday’s game with a 6-0 hammering of amateur league side, Saint Ignatius FC on Thursday evening.  Kevin Ndayisenga opened the floodgate of goals with a sublime free kick as Jomo Sono’s men dominated for long spells.

Further goals by Denzil Haoseb and hot-shot Mxolisi Macuphu completed a 3-0 drubbing in the first stanza. The second half finished goalless, but the visitors back line crumbled again in the third period when a brace from Nkanyiso Madonsela and a clean strike from Thato Sithole completed the rout.

Cosmos currently lie 6th on the NFD log with 19 points, while Eagles are second with 22.
