The Natal Rich Boyz celebrate after scoring the winning goal.

Jomo Cosmos suffered their 11th league defeat of the season when they went down 1-0 to Richards Bay on Sunday at the Umhalthuze Sports Complex.

Ezenkosi enjoyed more possession for greater part of the game but failed to convert chances into goals.

Bernard Moegamat struck in the dying moments of regulation time for the only goal of the game following a defensive blunder.

On-loan Orlando Pirates man, Lehlohonolo Mtshali, got a starting shirt for Ezenkosi alongside Seun Ledwaba, Mduduzi Sibeko, Letlhogonolo Kekana, and Matsilele Sono in a five-man midfield, while Ayanda Nkosi was the lone striker upfront.

Second half changes saw Tumi Ngwepe, Inky Masuku and Riaan Hanamub coming in to reinforce Ezenkosi’s attack, but the visitors lacked the cutting edge to make their domination count.

Sunday’s defeat saw Cosmos plummeting down to 13th on the NFD log with five matches remaining.

Ezenkosi next host league leaders Stellenbosch FC this weekend in a make-or-mar encounter at Makhulong Stadium.
