The decision, according to Khwezi “Meneer” Masondo, was mutual as both sides agreed on the parting of ways with the 28 year old player still having one year to run on his contract.

Cosmos were relegated to the National First Division at the end of the 2009/10 soccer season and were expecting the departure of a number of senior players from the club.

Hlalele, popularly known as TT in soccer circles, joined Ezenkosi from Black Leopards when both teams were relegated in the 2007/08 Premier Soccer League and helped the team regain it’s elite league status after only one season in the lower league.

The well-travelled Free State province born player previously played for Free State Stars, Real Madrid, Roses United, Hellenic, Premier United, Manning Rangers, Golden Arrows, Black Leopards.

Cosmos’ boss and head coach, Jomo Sono, says it’s been a pleasure to work with Hlalele over the years he has been at the club.

“Thabiso proved he could be a versatile player. When we signed him he was playing as a winger but he has since established himself as a capable wing-back.

“It has been great having him at the club and as with all good things, they come to an end. We wish Thabiso all the best in his future endeavours wherever he goes. He still had one year to go on his contract but we have agreed to release him.

“We are in the process of rebuilding the team for the challenges of the new season in the First Division and can’t hold on to players who are looking at plying their trade in the upper division.”
