Int’l Future Champs: Cosmos drawn against Highlands Park and Club Brugge

Jomo Cosmos Under17 will face Highlands Park and Belgian giants Club Brugge in the group stage of the forthcoming Gauteng International Future Champions tournament.

At the draw ceremony conducted at the auditorium of Nike Centre in Soweto on Wednesday, Ezenkosi boys were drawn to play against the top Belgian team and the Lions of the North in Group A.

Cosmos is among five Gauteng sides contesting the annual trophy, which is yet to be won by any South African team since inception in 2009.

The organizers disclosed that in keeping with the practice in previous editions, the 12 participating teams will be supported by one primary school each for the duration of the competition, and Tshebedesanong Primary Schoo was assigned to Jomo Cosmos. All the schools are based in Soweto.

The tournament runs from 19 to 25 March, 2018 at the Nike Centre in Soweto.

GROUP B: Mamelodi Sundowns, Nkana FC (ZAM), ADO Den Haag (HOL)
GROUP C: Orlando Pirates, Black Africa (NAM), FC Spartak (RUS)
GROUP D: Bidvest Wits, AC Reggiana (ITA), Espanyol (SPA)
