Jomo Cosmos recovered from a goal down to beat Real Kings 2-1 in a keenly-contested NFD game in Vosloorus last Sunday.
A second half strike by midfield sensation, Seun Ledwaba sealed the maximum points as Ezenkosi finally broke its winless streak in five matches.
For the second successive game, Cosmos played without bereaved Namibian wing back, Riaan Hanamub, whose father passed on the previous week.
The home side took the game to their opponents and dictated the pace early on in search of the opening goal.
However, it was the visitors who grabbed a shock lead within the first quarter of the game when Sphamandla Majola nodded home a well taken free kick by Lindokuhle Mtshali.
Ezenkosi responded in typical fashion as Chibuike Ohizu, Silas Maziya, Seun Ledwaba, Junior Sono, and Tebogo Mabula combined well to put Kings on the back foot.
Six minutes later, the persistent pressure paid off when goals machine, Charlton Mashumba finished off a defence splitting pass by Nigerian forward, Chibuike Ohizu, for his fourth goal of the season.
Both teams kept spectators on the edge of their seats with end to end attacking football and either side could have taken the lead again, but scores remained level at the break.
On resumption, the home side created more scoring opportunities and should have buried the game but near misses by Mashumba, Ohizu, Maziya and Junior Sono, whose left footed strike hit the post, left fans wondering if this was going to be another home draw.
However, as the game approached the final 20 minutes, Ohizu waltzed his way past a couple of defenders on the right, sneaked into the box and laid on a beautiful pass for Ledwaba who placed the ball beyond goalkeeper Langeni Gogo as Cosmos took the lead for the first time.
The visitors reacted swiftly and attacked consistently in search of the leveler, but the Cosmos backline stood its ground, and in one testy moment, goalkeeper Mwenya Chibwe made a diving save to deny Brian Hlongwa as Ezenkosi held on to their slim advantage until the final whistle.
The win propelled Cosmos to number 7 on the NFD standings with 17 points in 12 matches, nine adrift of log leaders Stellenbosch FC.
This weekend, Cosmos host Real Kings again in a Nedbank Cup qualification tie at the same venue.
