Sicelo Mkhize starring for Jomo Cosmos against Cape Town All Stars

Ace winger and goal-scoring machine, Sicelo Mkhize says his greatest wish is to see Cosmos regain its Premiership status and win more laurels.

Without a shred of doubt, the 22-year-old has emerged as one of the revelations for Cosmos this season, and his goal scoring sequence could be a huge factor in the team’s quest for promotion.

He currently tops the charts with a personal achievement of four goals and two assists in the league, with three of the goals coming in the last three NFD matches.

But the younger says there’s more to come as he hopes to hit the soccer scene with a bang.

You’re top of the goal charts for Cosmos so far. How does that make you feel?
I’m feeling good and proud of myself. But I have only just started. I believe I have more tricks up my sleeve.

How will Cosmos finish the season?
Personally I think Cosmos will be champions of the NFD this season; I’m telling you. We have many more games to go, but I have a feeling we’ll have it in the bag at the end.

Is the squad strong enough to compete for promotion?
Our squad is very strong, and we bring out the best in each other through the fierce but healthy competition for shirts.

What do you enjoy most playing for Cosmos?
I enjoy the family atmosphere at Cosmos because we work for each other.

What’s your biggest dream in football?
My biggest dream is to achieve promotion with Cosmos, play in the Psl, move overseas, and play for the national team as well.
