Jomo Cosmos captain, Thato Lingwati says the team is prepared to face Black Leopards on Sunday in their first of four matches in the mini-league series, and will leave no stone unturned in the quest to secure ultimate promotion to the Absa Premiership.
“We noticed the weak points between both sides after watching the game between Black Leopards and Platinum Stars and hopefully we can capitalize on them.
”We are focused on the task ahead. At the moment, team morale is high because everyone is fit to play and we are motivated by the possibility of playing in the PSL,” he said.
The centre back was answering questions on Vision View live sports show on Friday as a prelude to Sunday’s clash of the titans in Vosloorus.
Reflecting on Lidoda Duvha’s recent 3-0 defeat of Cosmos in Thohoyandou, the 25-year-old said:
“We are not giving excuses, but the fact remains that seven of our regulars including myself, missed that game due to injury. Now that everyone is fit again, we hope to play with more confidence and purpose particularly as it’s our home game.
“So I’d like to use this opportunity to call on our supporters to come in their numbers and get behind the team. Only four games stand between us and a return to the Premiership, and we must do our level best to make it happen,” he added.
Lingwati has so far made 21 league starts and one substitute appearance for Ezenkosi this season, with a return of two goals.
