Jomo Cosmos suffered their 5th defeat of this season’s NFD campaign when they went down to Uthongathi FC by a lone goal last Saturday.

The game seemed headed for a stalemate before Francis Baloyi broke the deadlock with only 10 minutes remaining when he scored from a corner kick to give Uthongathi the full marks at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium, Durban.

Young goalkeeper, Melusi Buthelezi played his first full game for Ezenkosi following the injury induced absence of first choice Mwenya Chibwe, while centre back Sifiso Nkosi made his second league start in as many games.

The 1-0 defeat saw Cosmos slump to 11th on the league standings with 17 points in 14 matches, 11 points adrift of log leaders Stellenbosch FC.

Ezenkosi play their last game of the first round on Saturday when they host Witbank Spurs at Vosloorus Stadium.
