Jomo Cosmos are targeting their third NFD win on the spin, when they play host to second-placed AmaZulu in a high-profile contest on Sunday afternoon.

On current form, Ezenkosi are favoured to swim over their experienced counterparts and claim all three points at stake, but it won’t be a stroll in the park for Jomo Sono’s men even after posting back to back wins against Mthatha Bucks and University of Pretoria.

Similarly, AmaZulu will have their work cut out as they face a reinforced Cosmos attacking line to be spearheaded by Kevin “Dambo” Ndayisenga.

This comes as Big news for the Ezenkosi faithful as the long wait is finally over for the burly Burundian striker who will now play his first official game after securing his Work Permit early in the week.

The former FC Bujumbura hit man had been on the sidelines watching the opening five matches of the NFD campaign without making an input on the field of play.

“Yes I am delighted that I finally got the chance to play, and I am more than willing to contribute my quota to improving my team’s fortunes in the league,” said the Burundi international.

Fringe defender, Tumisang “Sparko” Mashele is a surprise inclusion in Jomo Sono’s 18-man squad that has been assigned to do battle against Usuthu.

Also back in Ezenkosi’s squad for Sunday’s cracker is Matsilele Sono Junior. The 24-year-old had missed the October 1 trip to Pretoria following a hijacking incident.

Cosmos currently sit 8th on the NFD log with eight points from five matches, while AmaZulu are second with 10 points from a similar number of matches.

Kick-off time at Olen Park Stadium is 15h30. Entrance fee is R20 for adults, while kids will be admitted free of charge.
