Ezenkosi goalkeeper, Mwenya Chibwe has penned a three-year deal with Premier Soccer League side, Polokwane City.
This follows his impressive performances for Cosmos this past season, during which he kept nine clean sheets in all competitions.
Chibwe, who spent only a season with Cosmos after joining the team from relegated Platinum Stars FC (later renamed Cape Umoya United), caught the eyes of the PSL outfit after his heroics stopped Baroka FC in a Nedbank Cup first round game last January.
Cosmos won the game by a lone goal courtesy of Inky Masuku’s first half goal, but the real hero of the night was Chibwe, whose outstanding saves kept Baroka at bay.
In a chat with www.jomocosmos.co.za, Chibwe confirmed his movement, stressing how important it is for his career.
“Yes it’s true I’ve moved to Polokwane City. I signed a three-year deal with them and I’m hoping to make the best of this opportunity because it’s very important to my career,” he said.
