Cosmos battle AmaTuks for NFD points

Coaches at war: AmaTuks’ Shaun Bartlett (L)
and Jomo Sono of Jomo Cosmos

Jomo Cosmos will be looking to win their second game on the trot when they visit University of Pretoria in a National First Division (NFD) fixture on Saturday.

On current form, Ezenkosi go into the encounter after a hard earned 1-0 defeat of Mthatha Bucks last week, while Tuks are desperate to erase memories of last week’s 3-0 thumping by AmaZulu.

Tuks are 5th on the NFD log with seven points in four matches, while Cosmos occupy 11th position with five points from the same number of matches.

Historically there is nothing to separate the teams. In 10 previous matches there have been four draws and three wins apiece, although in the most recent meeting between the two sides, Ezenkosi edged Tuks 1-0 to claim the inaugural Transversal Cup in Mpumalanga in August .

Cosmos squad for Saturday’s game would see the return of defence stalwart Ange Dahou Lebahi, and young right back, Siphenathi Laqwela, while Namibian forward Hendrik Somaeb was also named in the team after missing last week’s 1-0 win against Mthatha Bucks.
