Fresh from last weekend’s 5-0 mauling of University of Pretoria, Jomo Cosmos have intensified their training schedule as the team takes advantage of the FIFA international break to rebuild.
Cosmos are scheduled to lock horns with NFD newcomers Tshakuma Tsha Madzivhadila in Thohoyandou on September 9 and consolidate on their current standing on the log.
The team is expected to engage in more friendly matches over the next fortnight following their 3-1 spanking of ABC Motsepe League side Ngengeza FC during the week. A brace of goals by Noah “Ballack” Maimela and a single strike from Brian “Bebeto” Mdaka gave Ezenkosi a 3-1 victory over the Limpopo side.
Meanwhile, former team Captain, Frederic Nsabiyumva will be available for selection in the next NFD game after getting his registration sorted.
However, a few injured players are still under medical observation as the team sweats it out in Springfield. Amongst the casualties are midfielder Khomotso “Deco” Marebane, who copped an ankle strain at training, while centre back Sabelo Madi and Franklin Ogbonna remain shut out with niggling ankle and knee injuries respectively.
