Jomo Cosmos are on the final leg of preparations ahead of the new season, and on Sunday, the team takes a road trip to Mpumalanga to participate in the inaugural Transversal Cup.
According to the organizers, the competition is also to commemorate the Women’s month of August.
Ezenkosi assistant coach, Siza Dlamini, is upbeat that the team will benefit immensely from the trip to Mpumalanga.
“Indeed this tournament will be beneficial in the sense that we’ll be opportune to see Mbombela United and assess them before playing them in the league. Similarly, this is coming at the right time because we are in the process of perfecting our game plan for the first official game of the season,” he said.
Other teams expected to showcase their skills at the one-day tournament include NFD side Mbombela United, Acornbush United FC from Motsepe ABC League, and Swazi Premier League team, Mbabane Swallows.
The first semi-final between Jomo Cosmos and Acornbush United FC kicks off at 10h00, while the second semi-final has been slated for 12h00.
All matches will be played at the KaMhlushwa Stadium, situated in Nkomazi region of Mpumalanga.
Winners of both semi-final matches, clash in the final at 15h00.
