Cosmos trounce non-league side in training game

Jomo Cosmos continued their impressive build up to the start of the season with a comprehensive 11-0 trouncing of non-league outfit, Fortlands FC in a training game played in Glenesk, Springfield on Monday afternoon.

In a match of three halves, Ezenkosi showed the upper hand against their hapless opponents in a rather one sided contest, winning     6-0, 4-0 and lastly 1-0 to round up a commanding performance.

Tebogo Makobela opened the floodgate of goals early in the first game, assisted by further strikes from Linda Mntambo and a brace each from Amara Kone and Mxolisi Macuphu, which took Ezenkosi to an unassailable 6-0 lead at the break.

In the second period, veteran striker Brice Aka plundered a hat-trick to set the tone for another 4-0 drubbing, with the other goal coming via a penalty kick coolly slotted home by Matsilele Sono Junior.

The visitors came out stronger in the third stanza, looking to salvage something out of the game, but Cosmos asserted their superiority as come back kid, El-Hadji Abdou Samb smashed home the last goal just before the whistle.

Cosmos continue their training programme at the same venue on Tuesday.
