Former Mbombela striker amongst the fresh legs as Ezenkosi carry out massive overhaul

Towering centre back, Sifiso Victor Nkosi (R), is one of Ezenkosi’s new signings this season.

Former Mbombela United striker, Inky Masuku has emerged as Ezenkosi’s most experienced signing this term following a mass exit of players in the off-season.

The attacking stalwart joins up with other players who scaled the hurdle to sign dotted lines with the one-time Coca-Cola Cup Champions.

No less than 15 first team players including Captain Thato Lingwati, Tebogo Makobela, Ananias ‘Junior’ Gebhardt, Denzil Haoseb, Lefa “Sdumo” Hlongwane, Sicelo Mkhize and Tebogo “Messi” Tlolane, left at the end of last season after Cosmos missed out on a PSL spot in the Play-offs.

Consequently several new signings were incorporated to fill the yawning gaps.

Some of the promising talent that have pitched tent with Ezenkosi’s camp include Uthongathi winger, Daclen Ngwentjana, former Cape Town All Stars striker, Tumi Ngwepe, ex-Highlands Park midfielder, Omphile Ledwaba and one-time Chippa United man, Vusimuzi “Skheshe” Mncube.

According to Ezenkosi boss, Jomo Sono, these “valuable acquisitions” will be complemented by other quality players like right back Nkululeko “China” Tshangane, centre back Sifiso Victor Nkosi, goalkeeper Melusi Buthelezi, and centre back Scelo Hlatshwayo.

Three foreigners on the team’s roster so far include Namibian left back, Riaan Hanamub, Nigerian midfielder Kizito Obi, and Nigerian striker Chibuike Ohizu.

Meanwhile, there are strong indications that Ange Dahou Lebahi will be retained if both parties agree on a new contract for the veteran Ivorian.

The versatile defender was one of Ezenkosi’s stand-out performers last season with two goals in 17 starts and five substitute appearances.
