Jomo Cosmos received a major boost in midweek following the return of Clifford Mulenga and two others from injury.

The Zambian forward was back in training after missing out of last weekend’s defeat at Black Leopards, and joining him were star forward, Sicelo Mkhize and veteran defender, Ange Lebahi who have both recovered from ankle injuries.

However, skipper Thato Lingwati remains on the sidelines as he awaits clinical reassessment of his hamstring injury.

First choice goalkeeper, King Ndlovu has been receiving treatment for the head injury he sustained in last weekend’s game against Black Leopards, and missed training on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Similarly, Silas Maziya’s fate hangs in the balance as the ace winger continues the long battle to overcome his knee problem.

Meanwhile, Ezenkosi stepped up preparations for the NFD promotional play-offs when they engaged Bidvest Wits in a friendly game at Sturrock Park on Tuesday.

The Clever Boys won 2-0 in the first of three periods, but lost out in the last two stanzas.

Ivorian hit man J’taime Kaplaka struck to give Cosmos a 1-0 victory in the second period, while Bojosi Manjoe’s solitary goal tied up the encounter as Cosmos won again by a lone goal.

Cosmos host Black Leopards in their first play-offs fixture in Vosloorus on May 20.
