Jomo Cosmos Captain, Thato Lingwati says he cannot wait to get on the pitch again after serving out his two-game suspension last weekend.

The tough centre back missed out on the 0-1 defeat at Real Kings on January 6 as well as last weekend’s 1-1 draw against Cape Town All Stars in Vosloorus, but returns for Saturday’s crucial NFD tie away to Uthongathi FC.

“Yes it’s nice to be back in the fray and looking forward to playing my part in our quest for promotion,” said the defender, who has so far made 13 starts and scored two goals this season.

He admits it would be difficult playing against Uthongathi who have just appointed Sammy Troughton as their new coach.

“It’s not going to be easy but we have to fight. We missed so many scoring opportunities in our previous matches and we have to rectify that problem,” he said.

Lingwati was appointed team captain last December following Linda Mntambo’s departure to Chippa United.
