Jomo Cosmos have a chance to consolidate on their second position on the National First Division (NFD) log when they visit third-placed Stellenbosch FC in a potentially explosive clash on Wednesday afternoon.

Kick-off time at the Coetzenberg Stadium, Cape Town is 15h30.

Both teams are on 12 points each after seven games so far, but Ezenkosi enjoy a superior goals difference of plus four, while Stellenbosch, formerly known as Vasco da Gama, have a plus one difference.

So far, Cosmos has not beaten any Cape side this season after three attempts. An opening 1-1 draw with FC Cape Town at home was followed by a 1-2 defeat against Milano United in Cape Town, and only last weekend, Ezenkosi were held 0-0 at home by Cape Town All-Stars.

Stellenbosch, meanwhile, bounced back to reckoning last weekend after a rare 1-0 away defeat of AmaZulu.

A full-strength Cosmos squad led by team Captain Frederic Nsabiyumva, traveled to Cape Town on Tuesday night with intent on claiming all three points, which could serve as a big morale-booster ahead of this weekend’s home game against mid-table Witbank Spurs.

The full squad to Cape Town:

GOALKEEPERS: Clement Ramakgasha, Williams Okpara Junior
DEFENDERS: Sipho Mngomezulu, Frederic Nsabiyumva, Thato Lingwati, Tumisang Mashele, Mpho Rasilingwane.
